Characteristics of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultations at a University Hospital and Accuracy Rates of Recognition of Childhood Psychiatric Diseases by Nonpsychiatry Specialists

Objective: Physical and mental health are closely related. Psychiatric problems increase in the presence of a physical illness. Consultation liaison psychiatry provides combination medical treatment, psychiatric psychosocial care to patients when necessary. In this study, we aimed examine consultation-liaison services provided by child adolescent department university hospital within two years accuracy rates recognition childhood diseases nonpsychiatry specialists.Methods: Consultations for pediatric from other clinics were screened retrospectively at Gaziantep University Hospital between January 1st, 2018, December 31st, 2019. Data relating departments requesting consultation, reasons diagnoses made children psychiatrists, treatments evaluated.Results: A consultations requested 290 over two-year period. The average age cases whom consultation was 12.1, 61% female. most common reason suicide attempts (26.6%). disorder depression (19%), while intervention psychoeducation (48.9%). disorders with highest diagnostic delirium (100%), autism substance use (80%), disability (70%), lowest psychotic (0%), (%18,2) anxiety (22.2%).Conclusion: Mental illnesses, but rate correct physicians is low. high highlight importance educating that work about cooperation psychiatrists physicians.
